Bahrain Asphalt executed the pavement works for The Dukhan Highway project (west contract) which consisted of approximately 42km of new highway from Shahaniya to the Dukhan industrial area. Work included the construction of four-lane dual carriageway with grade-separated interchanges, 35 Km of surfaced collector distributor roads and another 32 km unsurfaced roads.

The work commenced in Jan 2006 and completed in July 2009. BA laid 1.7Million tons of Asphalt and 930,000 tons of sub base for this project in accordance to Highway and QNBS specifications. To achieve the above outputs 2nr Asphalt plants having production capacity of 240tons/Hour each had been setup with all necessary ancillaries. Continuous Asphalt laying technology using 6nr Vogele pavers and Hamm PTR and steel drum rollers were utilized and the maximum output per day reached upto 4000tons to meet project schedule.
